Who can apply
Foreign nationals of Bangladeshi descent, except nationals of SAARC countries, may qualify. Eligible spouses and children may also apply under the published conditions. Sydney serves eligible applicants living in NSW and Queensland.
Prepare the application
Submit a completed visa/NVR form, current foreign passport, recent photographs, proof of Bangladeshi origin or qualifying relationship, payment receipt, and any category-specific documents. A previous NVR endorsement alone is not accepted as proof for a new passport.
Fee and submission
The published fee is AUD 120 per application. In-person applicants pay by card/EFTPOS at the Consulate. Postal applicants pay by EFT and include the receipt and a prepaid return envelope.
Important
NVR is non-transferable and must be obtained again when a passport is replaced. Names must be consistent across all supporting records; name changes are not accepted through the NVR process.
