NVR FAQ

Common questions about No Visa Required endorsements.

Can I apply fully online?

No. You may complete the form at visa.gov.bd, but the original passport and supporting records must be submitted by post or in person.

How long is NVR valid?

It remains valid until the passport expires and permits multiple entry with unlimited stay during that passport's validity.

Can NVR be renewed or transferred?

No. NVR is not transferable. Submit a fresh application and satisfy the current document requirements whenever the passport is replaced.

Who may qualify?

Eligible foreign citizens of Bangladeshi origin and, under the published conditions, their foreign-born spouse or children may qualify. SAARC-country nationality restrictions apply to foreign spouses.

What if I cannot provide the required evidence?

An NVR endorsement cannot be issued without the required proof. Consider applying for the appropriate visa instead.

Can a previous NVR be used as proof?

No. A previous endorsement is not sufficient evidence for a new application. Names must remain consistent across current supporting documents.

How long does it take?

Applications meeting all requirements may receive same-day in-person service, while complete postal applications are generally returned within several business days. Additional checks can extend processing.
